We did a Mad Science birthday party for our then 5yo ds. Probably his best party ever. The "scientist" entertained for an hour and the kids (boys and girls) were engaged the entire time. We also opted for the dry ice experiment at the end of the party, which was a huge hit. Only downside was that we wanted to have all the kids outside (instead of in my small place), but to do the experiments they need to be indoors. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] My 5yo dd's vagina is burning when she soaps up in the bath and then when she pees for awhile after. Could it be from all of the swimming (in a pool) at camp? It sounds to me like it's dry. it's probably the soap from the bath. no need for soap there, and the rest she can soap up shortly before getting out of tub. If not that, take her to the dr. [ Reply | More ]

I would really, really recommend going higher end with the soap. Try something pure and natural--think Whole Foods--and see if it helps. Stick with it anyway. [ Reply | More ]

I think it is kind of silly to recommend higher-end soap for this problem. Obviously, many 5yos wash their vaginas every day and DON'T get burning. I would make sure she doesn't rub any soap into herself and if the burning persists, see a doctor. Could be a bladder infection. [ Reply | More ]
