[ - ] Ok. Weird. I went to ob today for my 2nd appt of the pregnancy. Doctor checks me, says all looks good, says blood work from last time looks good, and then goes, "so, when did you finish your antibiotics?" I said, "I didn't take any antibiotics." She freezes, and looks at me, and says, "You didn't get the letter we sent you? It turns out you had a UTI last visit." Ummmm...NOOOO. I did not get a letter. Why would they send me a letter telling me I had a UTI? No phone call? I never experienced any symptoms, so I never even thought this was a possibility. Seemed really odd to me. I figure I'll give the office another chance, but if something like this happens again, I may have to find a new ob! 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

that is awful. a letter, for a UTI? I have had a UTI since I became pregnant and begged drs to check. Interview visit they finally did so I got antibiotics 2 months later, still had it next appt asked them to check again, waited a week for results and had to call them - "oh you still have it, we'll call in your prescription" yes you will and I will be changing ob. Only ever saw two new ob drs anyway and appointment staff treated me horrible. I've been a gyn patient for 10 years and had my first child with them. Really disappointed and will miss my gyn/ob but you have to do what you have to do [ Reply | More ]

I was misdiagnosed with gestational diabetes (and, actually, a very bad case of type 2 diabetes). Did 3 hr at same time as 5 or 6 other women. Vials or label or something ended up swapped. Only figured it out after dietitian told me that with my numbers I wouldn't be able to eat fruit in the morning--yet when I did, I had no problems. Never any problems. Blood sugar always totally normal--no matter what I ate. This went on for a month. Redid 3 hour (fun) and passed easily. No one ever apologized, either. [ Reply | More ]

No, probably not. But I'm told it depends on so much. Eye contact? Sociability? Babbling? Intonation? and so on. Late talkers are sometimes just late talkers. Call early intervention to have him evaluated, there is no harm doing it if you are concerned. Chances are he is just a late talker. My ds didn't talk at 18 months and ped suggested EI. He went on to have a therapist for a year and now is almost 6 and I couldn't shut him up. His therapist mentioned one day that she had about 20 kids that she was working with at the time, only 1 girl and the reason she needed therapy was a hearing problem. It seems that it's common that boys start late. So there probably is nothing to worry about. Hope it helps! [ Reply | More ]
