I opened all the windows this AM but should we get out of the house? Should I call someone? I am kinda freaking out! 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We were basically told that our child was going to get in if we wrote a fc letter. We were told that about several schools and the psd asked us which one we wanted and where we could have friends write letters. For us it was a clear choice (no letters involved by the way). DC was accepted at fc and wl at other schools. [ Reply | More ]

We were told that two schools, including our fc, were accepting dc. Decided to write fc letter to our fc, though PSD said it wasn't necessary. When letters arrived two weeks later, fc accepted and other school (which had been our 2nd choice) turned into wl. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know what most DoAs do. We applied from an off-the-radar preschool and my child was observed there by the DoA of a school to which we were the only ones applying from that preschool. The DoA was not familiar with the preschool and wanted to both see the preschool and observe my daughter. I think it can be very advantageous for a child to be observed where they are comfortable. I imagine there are also cases where it doesn't help. The DoA later told me she loved the preschool. [ Reply | More ]

wow. as someone who goes to HK a few times a year for work, I am so sorry for you! my best advice is get your co to buy a ticket on an airline that you have premium status with or that you have a lot of miles with. My co will only do Business class to international cities, but the direct NY to HK flight is too much $$ so we always fly through Narita Japan [ Reply | More ]

No, I don't. What you do is teach your kids not to discuss parties in front of the other kids who haven't been invited. At the same time, you teach your kid that there will be parties in life that he or she won't be invited to, not because people don't like them, but because i's just not always practical to invite the entire world. This is what's called a LIFE LESSON. [ Reply | More ]
