I think mostly diluted is fine but I do think it is a slippery slope. I once pulled into a Starbucks in NJ while travelling and a mom was in there w/ three teenage daughters - all of whom said they couldn't wake up w/o their cup of Joe and that is a habit I wouldn't want my teens to have. Moderation, as always. [ Reply | More ]

So when your dermatologist asks you whether you are still breastfeeding, you would lie to her and say that you had stopped while knowing that she was asking you only to protect your child who you are too vain to protect yourself. You don't need botox -- you need a shrink. No one at those weddings or reunions is going to notice your wrinkles -- people are paying a lot less attention to you and your good looks than you think. But have fun explaining to them that your dc has been sick with botulism of all things. Then they'll really think highly of you. Get a grip, then get a life. [ Reply | More ]

OR - I would think she just did an incredibly stupid thing and didn't consider the consequences. And that she's very insecure and immature, if she feels that she has to appear desirable to others, to actually feel good about herself. And to allow men to photograph her this way and basically use it. Sort of like a very mild form of porn. But not the same as a serious personality issue. [ Reply | More ]

Well, I would be horrified to ever have my child be in porn. But I think the issues are similar - in fact, that she did this for free and not for money would freak me out in a different way. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 05.30.08, 07:29 PM Flag

OR - yes, I agree with you. The issue isn't money but that she bared herself to a random guy with a camera, because she felt a desperate need to appear "sexy". To a random guy. Or if she knew about the video, to a bunch of strange guys later on. That's the real issue, her lack of self-esteem. And if her friend bared herself and your dd then followed suit, she succumbed to peer pressure too, which also indicates insecurity. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] My 22 mth old daughter has been diagnosed with asthma. She was prescribed albuterol to inhale with a machine and mask every 4 hrs as needed beginning on Monday. This medicine is dangerous as she has been more than hyper. She has been falling and injuring herself. She fell last night and gashed her forehead on the radiator. We were in the E.R. until midnight. Thank God she's better, now. I gave her one treatment this morning at 7am and have refused to give her any more. It is too dangerous for her. I've rubbed eucalyptus cream on her chest and she seems to be wheezing less. Any other moms go through this? Any homeopathic suggestions for asthma? If it was the worst the doctor's ever seen, she would have given sister a shot of steroids and followed them with some oral steroids for the next week. We just had this happen with DS last week. [ Reply | More ]

Doctor told us if you don't interrupt the cycle, the hives can last past when your body gets rid of the irritant (like it kicks in some sort of immune system haywire). She must be miserable. [ Reply | More ]

She is sooo miserable. Dh says it doesn't look like hives, it's not really raised, but must be some sort of contact dermatitis from something she used at the hotel, she used their soaps and creams too. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks for asking. He's doing much better. The allergist says the ER docs were wrong and it was an environmental allergy, not a food allergy - we are going to do scratch tests once he's completely off the steroids. [ Reply | More ]

she may want to see an allergist. i had allergic reaction to something one night right after I had my db. no idea what it was, went to er, my lung was collapsing, had awful hives-they were the reason i went to er. allergist did testing and was able to tell me what allergy was, gave me epi pen, etc and I go back for follow up visits periodically. yeah, I know. i had eaten them my whole life too-dr said that this happens sometimes if someone has allergies in family (which we do) and after a pg, body can be so out of wack. dr also said beans are part of same family as peanuts, so I have to watch what I eat and what I give to my kids [ Reply | More ]

np: This is my dh. I think he is depressed. We were together a long time before we married. He has been like this the entire time we have been married (his mom died right after we got married and he never recovered). Meanwhile, my libido has been much higher than it was in my 20s. The lack of sex. feeling desirable & sexy, and intimacy is killing me. We are ttc and have to do it via in vitro, so even haveing dc doesn't involve sex. I feel jipped. Sometimes it is like I am screaming silently in my head. So, I understand and am sorry you are going through it, too. [ Reply | More ]
