Well, people seems to think Packer is best academically, but I'm sure a kid would do fine at any of these if you are committed to private school. As a public school mom, I will say that there are excellent general ed schools and many very smart dcs in them as well, so as long as you are zoned for a good public, don't sweat it. [ Reply | More ]

This is the one time when a bugaboo would pay off vs. a Maclaren. You can use it, but it's tough to push. If you have a jogging stroller or any other stroller with big wheels, those handle much better, but you'll survive with a Maclaren. [ Reply | More ]

Oh it definitely gets better. I was you 3 1/2 months ago. My db would only sleep an hour at a time and I was up all night comforting/feeding him. It got a lot better at two months and significantly better at 4 months. I know it seems like a long way away but you'll get there! Lack of sleep is definitely contributing to your mood. Do you have help? Can you get out of the house for an hour? Or get someone to hold db so you can nap? [ Reply | More ]

it is going to get better. ds (now 7 1/2 months) was very similar at that age. are you swaddling? what is ds sleeping in? my dh would often let him sleep on his chest... i always worried he would drop him but he didn't. and it didn't develop any bad habits for ds. your mood is most likely a result of sleep exhaustion. Awwww. You are doing great. You are exhausted and might have some baby blues but I don't hear "depression". Most newborns don't sleep at night - they don't "know" it is nighttime - day and night are the same. Try to alternate a feeding with a bottle from DH so you can get some rest at least every other night. When you are up with him, go on the futon or bed. keep him swaddled tightly and try putting him in the car seat or swing. a newborn can sleep anywhere (mine slept in swing until she was 4 mo). Hang in there honey and try to get some rest. it gets much much much better! [ Reply | More ]

Yes it gets better! My DB is 9 months... can you nurse? I use to nurse in bed and then transfer baby to a round bassinette next to the bed. He sleeps 8:30-8am everyday with no interuptions (he may get up at 6am to play and nurse but back down so I nurse him in bed then put him in crib to get up to get dress) so it gets better!!! He will sleep in a crib eventually... Our DB naps in his swing (with the star lights on it) still. He outgrew his papasan chair but still naps in swing. Sleeps in crib at night, they adapt eventually. Sleep however you can and again it gets BETTER :-) [ Reply | More ]

I work for a PE firm and we're still making money. Lots of investors have taken their money out of the market and out of real estate and turning it over to us. Our challenge right now is not having enough good companies to invest in. That being said, our bonuses our going to be reflective of Wall St despite the fact that we're profitable, just because they can. And in my opinion, because they should. Even though I've been a product of the environment my whole career, I've never really felt good about collecting a huge paycheck when I know I don't deserve it. I didn't use one and my dd has been potty trained for the saem amount of time. Mine will not pee in the bath so assumed she woudl not pee in a pool either. She did ask to go when she ws in the pool - so I think we were OK. [ Reply | More ]
