[ - ] I gave up UB for Lent and haven't been on since early February - i.e. before all these changes - until today. Is it just me or does this new site have a TON of problems? I can't reply to other replies, when I click on "most watches" posts there in an error, and half the time I click on anything it takes me back to the login page. What's up?? 18 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Don't know, but curious as to why you have huge holes in your walls? How huge? Usually they spray that expanding/hardening foam and it takes just minutes. If you are unfamiliar just take a look at the exterior of any Gray's Papaya! [ Reply | More ]

Yes, I had my twins at 32.5 weeks after developing preeclampsia. They were in the NICU for 11 and 14 days but then came home happy and healthy. They're now almost 1 and doing very well, have reached nearly all milestones at their birth age (not due date). Sam is still crawling or needs a hand but Bea is walking all over the place, and both have good language and motor skills. [ Reply | More ]

You're at the point where an induction shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially with twins. I had very high BP (152/95, I'm normally 100/65). I was given betamethasone before they did a c/s because they felt induction wouldn't work. Basically they only waited a few hours after my BP was so high to do anything. [ Reply | More ]

They have me at home with a bp monitor. I could have stayed in the hospital, but my #'s at home flucuate so much (highest ever 150/103, only once...usually 130+/high 80's, 90's) that I felt that I could be there for weeks. So nervewracking. It has been such a long road, I just want them to be healthy. We have been to L&D before where they have sent me home with 142/84?? I have never had protin in my urine, though. I delivered my ds at just uner 34 weeks (water broke). He's almost 4 and doing great. He does get some services (PT, OT, ST) but no one knows if it's related to prematurity and I think he'll be done this year. He's in mainstream school and excels in many areas despite some delays. At this stage, everything should be just fine! GL! [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] DH and I were just married, but we've been together for a number of years. We're in our late 20's, and both want to have kids young, as we both grew up with older parents. Adjusting to being married hasn't been a big deal at all, however, DH has been incredibly busy with work since we were married. He is now starting to put the pressure on about having a baby... he is having serious "baby lust" and keeps asking me when we can start. I do want to have a baby soon, but not *too* soon. I think I might be ready to start trying 9mos-1year from now, but I think he really wants to start now. Anyone BTDT? 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

yes, but it was me who had serious baby lust. serious! truth was that we just weren't ready for one just then. i knew that it wasn't a good time (i was depressed, dad had just passed away, issues in relationship) and worked those issues out in therapy. now all is good and we are going to try as soon as we get married (in one year). i don't know how this translates to your situation. for the luster, it's hard just waiting to get over the baby lust but the intensity of it should make him consider whether this is a substitute for something else or if it's genuinely something he wants right now. what's up with the work situation? how long is it going to last? would he need to work less once the baby is here? Thanks for your response. I want a baby too, but just not yet. He is a corporate lawyer, so no, his work situation will always be bad. However, I hope that having a baby would make him realize he needs to be home more. He's (we're) also dealiing with his dad who is very ill, and part of me thinks that he wants a baby to help deal with that. [ Reply | More ]

np: this does not seem like ideal timing to have a baby, although I understand that part of his motivation might be that he wants his dad to see his grandchild. I know that I will always regret that my mom never met my ds. On the other hand, I don't think I was ready to be a parent when she died.... The work commitment issue is another one as well, but I don't think that will change much over time unless he works for a very humane law firm.... [ Reply | More ]

np - whether it's irrational is totally irrelevant. emotions aren't always logical. talk therapy can take a long time with major issues like abuse. i think she needs a way to deal with the situation comfortably while working on talk therapy. she needs a bandaid. i thought some of the suggestions above were good, re meeting through friends.
