Its your job to keep your cool- otherwise you are passing along the anger. Maybe that is the dynamic you created- he whines to get attention in the form of anger? [ Reply | More ]

Not that I'm a psychologist... but anger is often a sign of depression, too. [ Reply | More ]

Try being proactive and planning easy, fun activities. Nothing too elaborate, or else if it doesn't work out you'll blow a gasket. Playgrounds, puzzles, coloring, make playdoh on the kitchen floor, chalk outside, play in a sprinkler. [ Reply | More ]

Don't use an agency -- they are expensive and will literally just send anyone to see you. Try www.enannysource.com or www.nannies4hire.com [ Reply | More ]

That is really unusual. I have interviewed about 20 nannies and never had a noshow.. CraigsList and urban baby are the oly ways to go. Dont use an agency! [ Reply | More ]

the other trick is to only contact nannies whose Employers Post for them, and then talk to the employer first - that weeds out A LOT. That shows they, old employers, are really committed to them and helping them top find a job. Sorry Hayley! [ Reply | More ]

I have used two great agencies- one is called Abby Nanny. You can reach the owner at CZDLutz@yahoo.com and the other agency I used was Pavillion. Both agencies do a great job. Pavillion is expensive but, they did find me a stellar nanny and she stayed with us for 6 years. My current nanny / housekeeper I found through Abby Nanny which is less pricy, CZDLutz@yahoo.com, and we love her ! Both agencies interview nannies and check references and do a personality profile and have optional criminal checks... [ Reply | More ]

I didn't see your post so I'm not sure what you're looking for. I'm reading Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin (I think that's the name - it's not near me right now). I also loved Jen Lancaster's books - easy reads, funny, and fast - perfect for a wknd trip. [ Reply | More ]

it may be teething or fighting some virus. I think if it gets really high or your intuition tells you different insist on some tests. My daughter had 99, totally in good mood, but was positive for strep. [ Reply | More ]

I would not give it as a total replacement unless you had no choice (allergies, etc). Too much soy is not a good thing. I'd keep trying w/regular milk, mix it up w/flavored milks sometimes... [ Reply | More ]

I think coincidence. good naps during the day are supposed to lead to better night sleep, not worse. my 7 mo probably naps a total of 3-3.5 hours, but I thought it was supposed to be more [ Reply | More ]

This is like a corny self-help list, but....Get outside, be active, spend time at the ocean. these things make me feel really alive. Kids, of course, provide the greatest joy (and panic...). Act silly. Inject humor into your life as much as possible. Dance. Ride roller coasters. Sit outside in the evening and drink wine. Appreciate your friends. [ Reply | More ]
