Don't know of an agency, but my rec. would be - transfer balances to lowest interest card. Pay more than minimum if you can, otherwise you'll never crack past the interest. Do you have an accountant? They may be able to help you with this as well. [ Reply | More ]

Depends on the neighborhood. Last year I paid 200k for a house originally listed at 270k two years ago. Huge lot (close to an acre), huge house, nice neighborhood but nobody's clamoring to live here because of the high taxes in this area. In a hotter neighborhood in Rochester, where I live, I would have paid over list instead of under. So really I think it depends on whether or not the owner is going to get better offers from other people. If not, aim low. I'd say go as low as $140k in this market, especially if you know the owners want to get rid of the property quick. [ Reply | More ]

No experience with that particular program, but much with languages. Does your dc have any background in spanish? [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 06.06.08, 07:55 AM Flag

No. I speak some. The dual language programs take half English or other non-Spanish speaking kids, half native Spanish speakers, so half the kids had no Spanish when they started. Parents make a commitment to speak Spanish at home some of the time, etc. [ Reply | More ]

If you're serious about him having a good grasp of the language, beyond the incidental phrases, I think it's a terrrific idea. He's still young enough to learn the language easily. Has he had prior exposure to Spanish? Is it in the same school as he's now? [ Reply | More ]

I started playing when I was 8, a lot of my peers started earlier with suzuki methods -- 4 or 5. Thing was, they sort of learned to play before they learned to read music and I think it threw them off. Although technically, they were way ahead of me. I plan on starting dd at 5 I think. But non-suzuki. [ Reply | More ]
