[ - ] The most interesting thing about the lottery last night--to me at least--is that PS 163 was the most popular first-choice school among the siblings. I had no idea it was so well-liked. 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

OR: I think he doesn't have the experience or plan. I think his expressed international policies are naive and not well though-out. I don't like his stance on immigration. He seems to have charisma for certain people who don't seem to think "in-depth" about what he is saying. I don't like that he would give up his Church for twenty years because of political pressure. I don't like his unconvetnional upbringing, frankly.....single hippy mother, etc. about whom he speaks very little, I don't like that, until recently, he was smoker. I don't like that his fans have little to say in his defense except that those of us who don't like him are racists. [ Reply | More ]

i agree with you about the "border security" rhetoric. but i always felt his stance on immigration was more progressive than clinton's and most people's. he seemed always to cushion the more conservative points with acknowledging that the strict lines with immigration are linked to xenophobia and that we can't be so fearful. how would this relate to his policies? i don't know, and i do agree that it is all rather vague. but i still don't get the fear factor of him because of this issue, and immigration has always been a strong point with me. bush scared me too, but only during his re-election. i have always disliked him, but i just don't understand how you can justify being "scared" by someone on a conjecture of what he will do. it just seems like a needlessly extreme emotion. especially when it is based partially on the fact that he used to be a smoker. I thought Bush was even scarier the first time around: had only ever held part-time jobs, essentially handed to him by Daddy ....and the lost cocaine years. well make sure your hair is made for the big stay ( i had mine blown out) during child birth i tied it up and sleeping) you will have a lot of company and there is no way for you to do your hair if you out of it, u can wash it when u get home. 2 changes of pjs, you will be bleeding and leaking breastmilk , one pant pj set and one night gown ( you will be bloated after baby) a robe to walk around the floor. money to pay for tv and phone. change of clothes for baby, some favorite snacks and drinks. brush, hair pins , make up , camera and cell phone for conatct numbers...and while you are there dont forget to sleep while nurses take care of baby! ITA with this. The hospital stay was not relaxing at all. Nurses coming in and out whenever they please, doctors dragging everything out, etc. etc. The only advantage a hospital offers is the nursery for your child. But then if you have family around or a useful DH even the nursery is not much of an advantage. Get out of the hospital as fast as possible. [ Reply | More ]

If you are planning on breastfeeding, being nipple cream b/c the first few days can be painful and if your nipples dry, out, crack, etc. it takes a while to heal. bring your own maxi pads, w/out wings. yes, the hospital provides them but they don't have the adhesive and you will be slightly incontinent. if the pad moves you will pee everywhere. also, try and get them to give you an extra container of witch hazel pads before you go home. bring some pre-moistened facial cleansing cloths as well. you will be sweating your ass off and these will help you to freshen up and cool off a bit. good luck! I felt I took too much. I had an unexpected c-section, so I was much more immobile, and I could not have cared less about showering, putting on a cute night gown, music, movies, books, etc. A nursing pillow, chapstick, camera, toothbrush/paste, socks, band to put my hair up/back, glasses (no contacts), robe, dried fruit (to keep regular...very important!), and clothes for me and baby to go home.
