If you don't love the public elementary school you are zoned for, you can apply to another zoned school in district 3. lots and lots of people do this every year for the coveted schools PS 87 and 199. Even more people apply to the Manhattan School for Children, which is a charter school located on the UWS. chances are not so good... sort of like winning the lottery. [ Reply | More ]

For those who didn't watch, the parents had 2 teenage daughters, ages 14 and 17. The two of them stayed home full time during the week and watched their 3 brothers age 3 or so and under, and did all the household work and chores (even after parents got home, inc. putting boys to bed). Like little Cinderellas. The only schooling they got was online, which they tried to do in between being full time SAHMs to the 3 boys. They were both failing. I was so upset for those girls. She put them on a schedule that allowed the girls to study 4 hours a day (NOT ENOUGH!) while the parents paid for a sitter during that time. And transferred some chores to the parents (like putting the boys to bed). You could tell this time that she hated the parents. And the daughters said on camera the parents had told them off camera that the schedule and chores would go back when the cameras were gone. The parents were lazy, mean a-holes. [ Reply | More ]
